Can’t-Miss Winter Experiences in La Mitis in Gaspésie

Here are some suggestions for outdoor activities you can enjoy in the Sainte-Flavie area during your next winter getaway in Gaspésie.

Located in Sainte-Flavie, this regional park along the Mitis River offers about 4 km of forest trails that will give you access to a beach and the river mouth. Please note that the reception building is closed in the winter, and no services are available on site.

Discover the rich history of Mont-Joli on the Les Murmures de la Ville heritage walking tour. Lasting about an hour, this self-guided tour will take you to a series of murals that bring local history to life.

The Saint-Pierre Mountain is located in the village of La Rédemption, less than 30 minutes south of Mont-Joli. Developed by Coop Accès Chic-Chocs, the site is now affiliated with the FQME, an organization that promotes backcountry skiing in Québec. Backcountry ski enthusiasts can ski there independently and use the warming hut. (Note that you must become a member of the FQME to ski there.)

Go gin tasting at the Mitis Distillery, visit the Vieux Moulin honey farm to discover their mead and New France museum, have dinner at the Le Ketch brewpub and Vietnamese dishes at the Boulangerie Le Lotus Noir bakery… There’s something for everyone in La Mitis!
