Backcountry skiing
Home to 12 public ski areas, 3 private ski areas, 2 guide companies and a national park, La Haute-Gaspésie is the place to go backcountry skiing in Gaspésie. The Chic-Chocs offer a winter playground featuring heavy snowfalls (between 3 metres and 8 metres annually) and several mountains over 1000 metres high. Among the many ski areas to choose from are RAC City in Rivière-à-Claude, La Vallée Taconique in Mont-Saint-Pierre and Cap Castor Ski Hors Piste in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, which offer spectacular views of the St. Lawrence Estuary.

Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs in Cap-Chat
The Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs is a small tourist resort surrounded by mountains. Located 19 km south of Cap-Chat, it offers a variety of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, fatbiking and more. Parc national de la Gaspésie in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts
In the winter, Parc national de la Gaspésie offers 3 groomed cross-country ski trails, 15 snowshoe trails, marked Nordic ski trails, backcountry skiing, fatbiking and more.
