Description
The main mission of the Zoom Nature Desjardins discovery centre is to bring people closer to nature, raise awareness about the region’s rich animal, plant and mineral heritage as well as help protect the environment by teaching people more about it.
Located in the Rivière Blanche heritage train station near the roundabout in Mont-Joli, this regional flora and fauna interpretation centre offers permanent exhibitions and activities focused on nature themes.
Zoom Nature Desjardins offers fun activities led by guides to help you discover exhibitions focused on biodiversity: insects, wild plants, naturalized animals, minerals and fossils. Visitors of all ages can also learn about red worm composting. The centre also houses live specimens such as snakes, turtles, lizards (including caimans) and insects from Mistral Sauvage, the only mini zoo located in a school in the province of Québec!
