Description
May 15 to 18, 2025
This international journalism festival in Carleton-sur-Mer is a unique event, the first of its kind in Canada, bringing together journalists, teaching staff, journalism schools, media managers and the general public once a year in May. This is a much-needed opportunity to exchange views on the practice of the news business, which is an essential cog in the wheel of democracy and one that is currently under heavy attack.
This festival aims to be a citizens’ forum, open to the world, friendly and reflective, held far from the usual urban centres in the majestic setting of the La Baie-des-Chaleurs sector in Gaspésie. The festival is a hybrid event and a solutions laboratory, aimed at the general public, mixing artistic genres and forms with talks, exhibitions, documentary theatre, live performances and cinema. It is an opportunity for citizens to speak directly with those who inform them every day, to better understand their crucial roles and above all to participate in the conversation by expressing themselves on issues that are shaking society.
