Description
The Portage River, locally known as the Rivière aux Émeraudes (Emerald River), is located in the Coin-du-Banc area, east of Percé. The river’s nickname comes from the depth and colour of the stones at the bottom, which give this waterway an emerald-green appearance.
This magnificent park is one of the trailheads for the Sentier de la Rivières trail, which stretches for 27 km through the forest all the way to L’Anse-à-Beaufils. You can admire a waterfall in the park and soak up the beauty of this site.
To get there: From Route 132 in Coin-du-Banc, take Chemin de la Carrière for about 4 km to the toll booth and parking lot. This site is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Please note that this body of water is unsupervised.
